Welcome to the High Caliber Bowling Pin Shoot! This guide covers everything you need to know to compete safely, confidently, and competitively.
Two shooters. Five bowling pins each. One simple goal:
Be the first to blast your pins completely off the table.
At the start signal, it’s a head-to-head race with handguns — and only one shooter moves on. It’s fast-paced, high-energy, and brutally fun. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or just want to try something new, this is the match you don’t want to miss.

Bowling Pin Shoot to begin immediately after

Entry Fees:
Entry fees cover the competition only. Non-member competitors receive 50% off additional range time the day of the event.

Head-to-Head Battles
- Two shooters face off.
- First to knock all 5 pins off the table wins.
- Final Round: Winners from each bracket face off for 1st place
Double Elimination Bracket
- Lose once? You’re not done — drop into the Losers Bracket.
- Lose twice? You’re out.
- Everyone gets at least two chances to compete.
Match Setup
- Distance: 7 yards
- Start Position: Low Ready
- Max: 8 rounds per magazine
- Bring extra mags or speedloaders — you’ll need ‘em
Universal Gun Safety
Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
Never point your firearm at anything you’re not willing to destroy.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.
Know your target and what’s beyond it.
Range & Match Conduct
- All firearms must be transported in a case or bag.
- Firearms may only be handled on the firing line.
- Do not load your magazine into your firearm until instructed by the RSO.
- Never place a loaded firearm on the bench.
- Always point muzzles downrange.
- Eyes and ears are mandatory while on the range..
Disqualifications (DQ)
Immediate DQ and bracket removal for:
- Muzzle sweeping yourself or others
- Firing before the start signal
- Breaking the 180-degree rule
- Unsafe handling or ignoring RSO instructions
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
Final decisions on DQs are made by the RSO.
Rules of Engagement
Minimum Caliber: 9mm
Not Allowed: Pistol caliber carbines, rimfire, or rifles
Max Loadout: 8 rounds per magazine, two magazines allowed
Middle Pin Rule: The middle pin must be shot last — failure to do so results in forfeiture
Accidental Pin Knockdown (e.g., barrel/board impact): Round is forfeited
If you’re carrying the firearm you’re competing with, notify the RSO before the match

Fastest time wins
Time ends when the middle pin hits the ground
Middle pin must be shot last — violations result in forfeiture
Stray rounds knocking pins off (not directly hit) = forfeiture
RSO records times and determines results
