We are an indoor shooting range located in Urbana, Illinois. We offer several services, including range time, private lessons, and concealed carry courses.
First Time Visitors
First time shooters with us must complete the following prior to utilizing the range:
- Present a valid FOID card or out of state Drivers License/State ID
- Those over the age of 21 must posses a Valid FOID card.
- In addition to a FOID card, you will need to show your driver’s license or state ID
- Watch an 8.5 minute safety video
- Fill out and sign our waivers
Firearm Rentals
Firearm rentals are $10 per firearm, plus the cost of ammunition. All ammunition to be used with rentals must be purchased through High Caliber. It is the responsibility of the renter to request any assistance required by the Range Safety Officer to safely handle and operate the firearm. If at any time a Range Safety Officer feels a customer cannot safely operate a rental, the rental will be removed from the range without refund to the renter.

Safety Rules
- All IL residents must posses a valid FOID card or be accompanied by someone with a valid FOID card to be admitted to the range
- Anyone without a valid FOID card must have a valid State ID
- Any shooter under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Pregnant and nursing mothers are not allowed on the range due to lead exposure
- Eye and ear protection is required for admittance to the range
- Sunglasses are not considered proper eye protection
- Non protective ear wear (airpods, beats headphones, etc) are not considered proper ear protection
- All shooters are required to sign a waiver and watch a safety video before admittance to the range
- Black powder firearms are not allowed on the range
- Shotshell ammunition (buckshot, birdshot, etc) are not allowed on the range. However, shotgun slugs are allowed
- Steel core ammunition is not allowed on the range
- All ammunition to be used with rentals must be purchased through High Caliber
- There is no limit on rapid fire, unless the shooter is unable to keep their shots on target
- All firearms must remain in a case until they’re within the shooting booth
FAQs
Can I bring my own ammunition
Shooters may use their own ammunition, with the exception of steel case, steel core, shot shells (shotgun slugs are permissible), and black powder. Any ammunition that attracts a magnet is prohibited.
Can minors shoot at the range?
There is not a specific age limit, but minors are the responsibility of their parents/guardians. High Caliber reserves the right to remove any shooters who do not follow instructions and/or act in an unsafe manner regardless of age.
Do you offer classes?
We do offer multiple training classes.
Do you offer FFL transfer services?
Yes, FFL transfers are $40 per serialized item.
