Holster Certification One

The Holster One course is the first step in the HCTC holster certification program.  You’ll learn proper techniques for safely and efficiently drawing from a holster, clearing a garment, and presentation to a target. Whether you’re a concealed carry holder, a competitive shooter, or simply want to improve your defensive skills, this course will give you the confidence and proficiency needed to react under pressure.

Topics include:
✅ Safe and efficient draw techniques
✅ Clearing cover garments for concealed carry
✅ Reholstering safely and efficiently

Holster One does not include any live fire training – students will learn basic holster performance in a safe, controlled environment. Holster One graduates will be eligible for Holster Two and an opportunity to earn a HCTC holster certification, which will allow shooters to perform holster work on the range.

Requirements

• Basic handgun knowledge
• Safe firearm handling skills
• Appropriate handgun holster
• GUN belt – standard belts are not authorized in holster classes
• Ability to independently perform load/reload/clearing firearm functions

Restrictions

• Appendix and strong-side are the only authorized holster positions
• 6 o’clock, bag/purse, pocket, and cross-draw carry positions will not be used
• Holsters must be of appropriate design/size to completely cover the trigger guard
• All drills will be executed from a concealed position – open carry is not authorized
